What is Androderm?
This is a prescription-grade testosterone treatment patch for men. It is specifically for guys with low or no testosterone levels. This condition is called hypogonadism, and this patch essentially releases the male sex hormone into the body in order to restore testosterone levels to normal. Androderm cannot be used by women or men under the age of 18. Furthermore, men with preexisting health conditions, certain types of cancer, and those taking medications may not be able to use this testosterone treatment.
How Do You Use Androderm?
Since this is a prescription testosterone therapy, instructions are given to you by a licensed physician. Basically, the Androderm patch is applied to a clean, dry area such as the thigh, back, upper arm, or stomach. A single patch is only left on the skin for 24 hours, and it delivers 2-4 milligrams (two different prescription doses) of testosterone during this time. It is important to avoid reapplying the patch the same area of skin twice in a row, but instead wait seven days before applying Androderm to the same site.
What are the Benefits of This Patch?
First of all, increased levels of testosterone can lead to improved strength, more muscle mass, elevated mood, increased libido, and more energy. As for the Androderm patch, this treatment allows you to avoid oral medications and supplements for low testosterone, which some guys will appreciate.
Are There Any Side Effects?
There are some side effects that can occur with Androderm. These are headache, acne breakouts, fatigue, hair loss, swelling of the face and lips, mouth irritation, gum pain, and nausea. Unfortunately some men do experience allergic reactions such as rash, tightness in the chest, hives, and difficulty breathing. If any side effects occur, it is best to speak with your doctor at once.
